Red Skelton

Mr Skelton IS.....my favorite "Clown"! Born on July 18, 1913 in Vincennes, Indiana to a circus clown, Red spent his life in vaudeville and performing not only as a comic but also made many television movies. He had his own weekly variety show called of course, THE RED SKELTON SHOW where he entertained with his many characters. If you get a chance to see his Christmas Show it's one you will remember.

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Skelton at the CHICAGO THEATRE, where he did a stand up comedy routine for 2 hours. He was frail and aged so he had to take a huge break in the middle of his performance, but not one single person left the audience.....we all waited to see this wonder man. I was with a group of fellow clowns and we were invited to go backstage after the show as special "guests" where he met each of us and allowed us to take pictures and sign autographs for us. A class act!! RIP Mr. Skelton...."and may GOD bless"!!!
