Robert Keeshan played Captain Kangaroo, the star of the children's television show which was popular back in the days prior to Sesame Street and Barney. He also played CLARABELL the Clown in the PUPPET PLAYHOUSE from 1948-1953. Mr. Keeshan inspired many children to become school teachers and was a great teacher himself.
